Maxipoint has been servicing farmers for over 25 years, our aim is to help farmers optimise their seeding program to get the best results. We manufacture and supply aftermarket parts for air seeders, including replacement points, seed boots, press wheels, coulters, bushes and other spare parts. We also consult, design, engineer and fabricate custom parts and prototypes for ground engaging tools and other wear parts for all air seeder makes and models. Our constant investment in research and development, and talking with and listening to farmers has resulted in an expanded product range, covering more seeding bar brands and more parts.

We currently have a position available for a **Metal Fabricator**

**Main Responsibilities**

Design, engineer and fabricate custom parts and prototypes for ground engaging tools and other wear parts for all air seeder makes and models

**Tasks**

1. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements

2. Constructing base templates if necessary.

3. Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock

4. Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.

5. Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.

6. Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work.

7. Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines

8. Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering

9. Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting

10. Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments

11. Grinding and finishing completed products.

12. Performing quality checks on completed products.

13. Conforming with state and company safety regulations.

14. Completing job reports.

**Qualifications**

Suitable Trade Certification or relevant experience

**Experience**

At least 3 years’ experience in a similar environment

**Skills**

Maintenance of farming equipment and welding with different methods.

Experience in operation and maintenance of farming equipment.

Setting up a workshop for manufacturing and repair of farm equipment.

Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.

Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.

Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses.

**Salary**: From $96,000.00 per year
