Hays is currently partnered with a Federal Government organisation to recruit a new EL1 Assistant Director - Executive and Corporate Communications professional to join them in a temporary capacity. This company is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for implementing programs that support a better life those with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.
**Your new role**

The Executive and Corporate Communications team provides strategic advice, support and content development for the CEO and members of the Executive Leadership Team to support their internal and external communication and engagement activity.
This is a team leadership position, and you will be responsible for undertaking very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the Organisation. This role has primarily an internal focus, supporting staff communication that ensures individuals can perform their roles and feel supported in the workspace.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through communication and engagement models and guide the team with optimal ways of providing advice and quality assurance to support business outcomes.
- Identify and mitigate reputational risks associated with communication, engagement and business activities.
- Scan and interpret complex government and social landscape to identify and mitigate reputational risk.
- Prepare high-quality, clear and accessible written content.
- Use reporting metrics to review the impact of communication and engagement activity and identify opportunities for improvement.

To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Strong work history in a professional environment, leading people and teams to support organisational needs.
- Tertiary qualifications and or previous experience working in Marketing, Communications, Media, Public Relations or a related field.
- Ability to maintain and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to assist in the creation and management of projects to drive organisational outcomes.
- Manage collaborative and independent work by setting priorities, establishing timelines and leveraging resources.
- High standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks.
Due to the nature of our client, for this role you MUST be an Australian Citizen
