Directly reporting to the Group Health & Safety Manager, the RTW Coordinator (NSW) will work across all segments of MAAS Group Holdings in implementing the return-to-work program to all employees, supporting injured workers and assisting the Company in meeting their obligations as required under workers compensation legislation.
The Return-to-Work Coordinator is a permanent position based in NSW (location as agreed).
The RTW Coordinator must be available to visit other locations as required. Our NSW Operations cover Sydney, Wollongong, Central West, Newcastle, Bathurst & Orange and surrounding areas.
**Duties will include**:
- Coordinate receipt of new injury notifications and ensure timely communication with injured parties and key stakeholders (client management, insurers, brokers, doctors)
- Coordinate the worker's recovery at work, including identifying suitable work to promote mutually beneficial and compliant outcomes through the recovery at work process.
- Working collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve desired RTW outcomes including engaging with the treating doctor and other health physicians
- Accurately complete administrative tasks associated with injury management and worker’s compensation including file notes; preparing, monitoring and reviewing recovery at work plans; maintenance of documentation on injury management system in line with laws and guidelines
- Coordinate and support the redeployment of workers (internally or externally) into suitable work when they cannot return to their pre-injury duties
- Implement the RTW program so all parties understand the requirements of the plan and their responsibility to adapt and meet the agenda of the plan
- Be able to track, control cost in injury claims and ability to prepare timely reports for senior management including EOM reporting and statutory requirements
- Actively participate in claim reviews with agent, brokers and internal stakeholders on a regular basis
- Plan, evaluate, review and promote workers compensation claims management strategies to contribute to risk reduction, increased return to work outcomes and improved claims management.
**Skills & Experience required**:
- Sound understanding of the workers compensation system
- Ability to communicate with management and workers on all levels
- Thorough understanding of the claims process and legislative requirements
- Create tailored return to work programs
- Work and communicate with the support team
- Ability to think outside the square when plans go off track.
- Experience in other jurisdictions or willingness to upskill
