Your opportunity

We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to come on board in the role of a Return-to-Work Coordinator to own and deliver great outcomes.

This is a permanent full-time role based at Sydney/Port Botany. This role will report into the WHS & Return to Work Manager.

The RTW Coordinator is responsible for supporting injured workers, developing, implementing, and monitoring return to work plans and supporting the implementation of other Fitness for Work programs. Additionally, the role provides administrative support to the Sydney WHS management team, contributing to a positive safety culture.

The role is based in Sydney/Port Botany, with travel required occasionally to our regional ports.

•    Monitor incident and injury notifications to ensure prompt follow up and response for employees and advice to managers, completing all necessary reporting to promote early intervention

•    Develop, implement and monitor plans supporting injured employees, managers and liaising with medical and insurance professionals to facilitate the return-to-work process, including establishing frequent case reviews to       ensure continuous progress and monitoring of recovery

•    Supported by the RTW and WHS Manager, provide advice regarding workers compensation legislation and fitness for work policy, reasonable adjustment, injury prevention and safety

•    Document control and maintenance of compensation and work health and safety records in accordance with legislative and business requirements, demonstrating a high level of integrity ensuring confidentiality 

•    Work collaboratively with and provide support to the wider Sydney WHS team. This will include WHS related project work, monitoring contract execution, and administrative support. 

What you'll bring


•    Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn and apply applicable legislation, policies, processes, and guidelines as they apply to workers compensation and Work Health & Safety

•    Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, and the ability to deal with conflict and confronting situations.

•    Excellent written skills, with the ability to take detailed notes and records then manage accurate filing systems.

•    Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make decisions and time management skills.

•    Ability to identify when additional medical services are required.

•    Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite. 

•    IT system administration experience desirable

Essential:

•    Return to Work co-ordinator certificate

•    Limited experience in injury management, preferably in a skilled labour environment

•    Valid Driver's license
