MRAEL delivering the Mas Experience are contracted by the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment to deliver Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services across multiple states. Our knowledgeable and passionate team support employers, relevant stakeholders and individuals from pre-commencement through to completion of an apprenticeship or traineeship.

**About the role**

Mas Field Mentors deliver an essential part of the MAS Experience In-Training Support service which is a free and tailored service to assist our clients. The Field Mentor role provides high level support to apprentices and trainees to overcome workplace and personal barriers that may impact employment & training. The role is also responsible for ongoing monitoring of clients at risk along with providing support and guidance to employers. All functions of the Field Mentors are performed with the aim of preserving employment and training. In-Training Support field services are supporting via a team of counsellors and social workers in order to create a holistic support service for all clients.

The primary focus of the position is to work with at risk apprentices, performing functions including but not limited to mentoring, education, mediation and well-being support - all with the aim of preserving employment. The field mentor is also expected to provide strategies for both Australian Apprentices and employers to adopt in order to overcome difficulties.

**About You**

**You will also bring**:

- Industry experience and trade qualification highly regarded
- Qualification in Youth work, Community Services or extensive work with youth highly desirable
- Proven experience in supporting clients through crisis
- Experience in planning, developing and managing mentoring programs
- Demonstrated ability to perform mediation
- Experience in the VET sector is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels, listen objectively, provide advice free of bias and clearly articulate instructions and advice in high stress situations
- Proven capacity to meet set targets/KPI's

Please note: Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia. A current Working with Children Card and National Police Check is required and can be arranged. You will also need to hold a current and valid Driver's Licence for your state/ territory. A company car is included in the package due to the travel requirement of the role.
