Hays Technology in Geelong are currently partnered with a Federal Government organization located in Geelong CBD, Victoria.
We are seeking to appoint **EL 1 Economic Modeller and Insights** on **12 months contract role with a view of extension**. This will be a hybrid role working from home and Geelong office location. **Your new role**
Reporting to EL2 Pricing and Reports Director, In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the work area.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Leading and conducting the development of partial equilibrium modelling, economic analysis, and the setting and management of market interventions, including price controls.
- Providing quantitative evidence to support the development and implementation of the company’s market and pricing strategies including interventions, monitoring, and stewardship.
- Working collaboratively and effectively across teams and departments as this work is likely to involve collaboration with Treasury, the Department of Social Services, and possibly consultants and academics.
- Leading the development of the partial economic modelling framework.
- Providing project management oversight for the development of key projects, mainly economic model development.
- Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan for market stewardship.
- Other duties as and when required by the organisation.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Experience working in the financial or government sector is highly desirable
- Relevant qualification in economics or econometrics.
- Significant experience in large complex organisation in implementing economic policies.
- Demonstrated experience in advance statistical tools/ packages such as SAS, R, STATA, SPSS or similar.
- Experience in Stakeholder management
- Due to nature of our client, for this role you must be an Australian Citizen
