**The Opportunity**

***Here at Telethon Kids Institute, we believe that effective research quality, integrity and governance promotes a positive research culture and sustainable practices that facilitate the conduct of high-quality research. The Research Governance team is responsible for ensuring all research is properly governed and conducted in accordance with the Institute's Research Governance Framework, which encapsulates ethical principles, codes for the responsible conduct of research, relevant legislation, regulations and Institute policy.

We now have an opportunity for a Research Integrity and Governance Officer to promote and deliver an inclusive and comprehensive research quality, integrity and governance environment that fosters and supports an already thriving culture of research excellence. Reporting to the Research Governance and Integrity manager you will support the development and implementation of policies and standards, coordinate research integrity investigations and provide support and advice for teams conducting the review, approval and monitoring of child health and medical clinical research, ensuring the Institute meets national regulatory and ethical research requirements whilst ensuring risk is mitigated.

Some of your duties will include but not be limited to;
- Coordinate research integrity investigations for the Designated Officer.
- Maintain up-to-date research integrity and policies for compliance and communicate policy changes through various channels.
- Proactively coordinate the monitoring of research integrity across the Institute.
- Support innovative approaches to research conduct and governance that align with the Institute’s risk appetite and facilitate relevant training in order to build training capacity for research ethics, integrity, and clinical governance.
- Provide a Research Governance review and facilitate site authorisation of all human research projects conducted at the Institute.
- Conduct post authorisation monitoring activities to ensure research is conducted in line with good clinical practice, regulatory standards and Institutional policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of a research governance quality management system to manage electronic records; track and report on research governance activities and projects conducted within the Institute.
- Contribute to the development of research governance related educational and training resources.
- Provide advice on integrity, ethics, governance and regulatory processes to researchers to facilitate the approval and monitoring of human research.

Conveniently based in the new Perth Children’s Hospital, this role will be offered on a full-time basis.

***About you**
- ** **Our preferred applicant will have a solid understanding of research quality, integrity and governance processes ideally within a medical research setting and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability and passion to help others.
- The key to your success will also be your demonstrated experience in the following:

- A minimum of 2 years (preferred) research integrity, compliance, and policy experience and/or equivalent quality assurance or auditing experience in research ethics or governance.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of research integrity and human research ethics and governance, ideally in a medical research context, including knowledge of ethics and governance risks in research and the research regulatory landscape.
- The ability to coordinate research integrity investigations as an Assessment Officer for the Designated Officer including maintaining all associated documentation.
- Experience in the conduct management and monitoring of human research including clinical trials.
