**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a motivated Data Analyst to build an agentic AI system that automatically maps ongoing research activities across The Kids Research Institute. This innovative project will provide leadership and researchers with real-time visibility of projects, strengthen cross-team collaboration, and support The Kids’ Research Reimagined strategy.

In this position, you will be responsible for the following:

- Design and develop AI agents using PydanticAI to extract and map project data.
- Build connections between projects, researchers, and research themes.
- Enable natural language queries and create simple user interfaces for non-technical users.
- Support integration of data sources and maintain regular updates through pipelines.
- Contribute to system testing, documentation, and demonstration to leadership.

Based at Perth Children’s Hospital, this is a full-time, fixed-term position for 1 year.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Proficiency in Python programming and Git version control.
- Understanding of AI agents, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
- Basic web development skills and ability to design user-friendly interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and produce quality documentation.
- Collaborative team player with a commitment to learning and knowledge sharing

Desirable experience:

- Familiarity with PydanticAI or similar frameworks.
- Experience with Streamlit, FastAPI, or vector databases.
- Understanding of research environments and workflows.
- Basic knowledge of Docker.
