**Purpose of Role**:
Monitor and support a specific function of the safety, health and environmental program at a site or facility under general supervision. To provide support, coordination and advice of HSE practices, systems and procedures within the defined workplaces.

- Ensure the safety of any subordinates and ensure their compliance with establishes safety policies, procedures and practices
- Analyse safety problems and recommend solutions to appropriate manager
- Conduct routine SHE inspections, monitoring and analysis of work areas
- Conduct investigations of site accidents and incidents that may require litigation
- Assist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes
- Create, evaluate and administer safety programs for all employees
- Monitor compliance with the SHEQ systems and procedures within the workplace and provide operational support to the Project Management Team

**Key Accountabilities**:
Support management and dissemination of information
- Survey, evaluate, investigate and gather information that will address inadequacies concerning safety, health and environmental matter
- Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of the safety program assigned
- Maintain knowledge of applicable rules and regulations including government regulations, standards and policies
- Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures to enable the performance of assigned duties in a safe manner
- Maintain professional relationships with regulatory bodies, clients and contemporaries to foster the professional image of the organisation

**Position Requirements**:

- Diploma Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Construction HSE (1+ years)
- Experience in supporting stakeholder groups and teams within area of responsibility such communicating with frontline employees and first line managers
- Ability to interpret project related documents, preparing reports and monitoring compliance documentation
- Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and development skills as well as monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
