With a healthy pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Safety Advisor to join our team. The role will be part of the project management team and help embed a safety culture across our sites. You will focus on the coordination and administration of our safety processes and ensure compliance to our safety and client requirements.

What you will do:

- Monitor and assess project-specific safety management plans and risk management policies, aligning with client requirements
- Facilitate High-Risk workshops with the project management team
- Provide daily guidance and direction to all employees to ensure proper use of PPE and safety issues are appropriately assessed and risks are mitigated
- Provide legislative and regulatory advice to the Kapitol Group team on all matters relating to HSE
- Monitor compliance with the safety standards, systems and procedures
- Ensure both personnel and plant/equipment are appropriately inducted
- Assist the site team with prestart briefings, training and toolbox meetings
- Complete risk assessments, identifying and reporting on injuries, equipment damages, and potential safety and environmental hazards, and following up on the implementation of effective corrective actions
- Management of HSE incident reporting, investigations and recommendations
- Conduct internal and external audits of sites, processes, equipment, and hazards to ensure project adherence to relevant legislation
- Ensure all required documentation, including permits, are up to date in our Hammertech system
- Review of subcontractor safety documentation, ensuring compliance under statutory guidelines

What you will bring:

- A passion for the construction industry and creating safe workplaces
- 3 to 4 + years in a construction focused safety role
- Relevant tertiary degree in Health and Safety
- Relevant training in First Aid
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong interpersonal skills including consultation, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Well-developed time management and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
- Hammertech experience
- Driver’s license
- A strong team focus
