AGL’s Integrated Energy unit has a newly created opportunity for a Manager, HSE Management System to join the HSE Systems, Reporting and Governance team.

Based in Melbourne or Sydney, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the organisation’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE MS), with a primary focus on ensuring alignment with ISO 45001 across both the enterprise and individual business units.

This role ensures the HSE MS is consistently applied throughout all levels of the organisation, driving compliance, risk mitigation, and the enhancement of safety culture across diverse operational environments.

You will be working closely with the HSE Leadership Team in shaping the organisation’s strategic focus, while leading the implementation of initiatives and projects that improve HSE performance.

What you’ll be doing:

- Developing and aligning HSE MS across entire enterprise, ensuring full alignment with ISO 45001, conducting gap analyses and identifying areas for improvement.
- Developing and monitoring HSE performance metrics.
- Coordinating and overseeing internal audits of HSE MS.
- Developing and delivering training programs related to HSE MS and acting as an SME and advisor for business units.
- Leading cross-functional teams across the organisation, ensuring HSE MS is aligned with organisational strategic goals.

What you’ll bring:

- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and proven ability to implement and maintain HSE management systems at both Enterprise and Business Unit levels.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and promoting safety culture across various operational environments.
- Skilled in assessing and improving HSE systems, conducting risk assessments, and addressing complex HSE challenges with effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels and deliver clear HSE reports, presentations, and training.
- Experienced in managing large-scale HSE projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and timely completion.
- Expertise in conducting audits to maintain ISO 45001 certification, managing audit findings across multiple operational sites.
- Strong understanding of Australian and international HSE laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and proactive risk management.
- Proven ability to drive change and promote a proactive safety culture, aligning with HSE objectives and ISO 45001 requirements.

Qualifications & experience:

- Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety or Environment, Engineering Technology or other related business discipline.
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification, or similar.
