**Position Information**:
Moss Vale High School is located in the Southern Highlands of NSW. The school has an enrolment of 780 students. There are 46 Aboriginal students enrolled at the school.Our school motto is Truth and Honour. Positive Behaviour for Success_ _(PBS) underpins student well-being with our expectations for our school community being Safe, Respectful and Responsible behaviour. The PBS initiative has had a significant impact across the school community and has enabled us to build on our positive culture at Moss Vale High School. All staff are involved in explicitly teaching lessons linked to our PBS values.

The school's other key initiative is HOW2Learn (Higher Order Ways to Learn) and is focused on building students' capacity to learn. This is achieved by explicitly teaching dispositions and habits within the existing programs and practices at Moss Vale High School to develop a learning culture that enables everyone to be self-aware in their learning, use the language and dispositions of successful learners and share a belief that intelligence is learnable and expandable. The school has a thriving Support Unit containing I.O., Autism and Multi-categorical classes.

Moss Vale High School has an expansive curriculum that supports the learning needs of students across all key learning areas. **Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, Approval to teach English 7-12 and demonstrated deep understanding in leading others to teach the Stage 6 Syllabus including English Extension 1 and 2.

Proven capacity to foster and sustain a high performing collaborative culture and provide support for staff performance, improvement and conduct, effectively and respectfully, in consultation with senior executive and others.

Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret internal and external data sources to inform, design and lead targeted literacy initiatives that support the schools’ strategic directions to support student growth and attainment to improve the learning outcomes for all students.

Demonstrated ability to inspire, develop and lead staff at all stages of their career through professional learning and evidence-informed, reflective teaching practices to promote high-quality teaching and learning.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
