Our client SAGE Community Services is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join their team in the role of Case Manager in their Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) program.
- About the Opportunity _
This position provides support to women & children escaping domestic violence through intervention, case management and group work services. Working closely with clients who choose to stay in their home by assessing safety needs, seeking to improve social, health, economic and legal outcomes for families, reduce homelessness and promote accountability for offenders of violence.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) case management, project management, networking and relationship building and influencing systems change.

- 28 hours (4 days a week - days negotiable)
- The option to work 1 day/wk from home
- SCHADS Award Level 5 (dependant on experience)
- Based in Pendle Hill, however some transport will be required across the funded districts
- About the organisation _
SAGE is a community-based family support service for families in the Parramatta and Cumberland local government areas. The organisation has been delivering funded services since 1978, with the Department of Communities and Justice providing core funding for current programs.

SAGE provides an efficient, preventative service to families who seek support to improve their well-being. They address issues such as child development and behaviour, parenting strategies, strengthening parent / child relationships, social isolation and family violence. The centre provides a variety of services for families, including information, referral, community development, counselling, support services, home visits and group work.
- What you’ll need to succeed _
The successful applicant will be a passionate woman with sound experience in case management and a proven ability to support women & children in crisis with complex needs. Your experience will also include networking, advocacy and you will have a good understanding of domestic violence.

Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Counselling or related fields
- At least 2 years’ experience working with women and children impacted by family violence
- Demonstrated knowledge of the complex issues affecting women and children who have experienced family violence, including mental health, disability and homelessness
- Demonstrated experience providing client focused, collaborative, flexible, case management, including developing case plans, undertaking risk assessments, conducting home visits, providing information and referral and advocacy
- Demonstrated experience networking and working collaboratively with other stakeholders both internal and external
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills both day to day and in crisis situations
- Ability to work both independently and within a small team
- High level of computer literacy (including Office 365 and online information client management systems)
- Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of current legislation and frameworks relevant to the protection of Victims of domestic violence in NSW (i.e. ADVO)
- Understanding of contemporary domestic violence practice, including the gendered nature of violence and working with trauma
- Understanding and commitment to supporting Aboriginal and CALD families, ensuring a culturally responsive approach
- Experience in, and willingness to deliver education programs to a variety of cohorts
- Current driver’s licence and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) (or willingness to obtain)
- Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
