**THE ROLE**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Reviewing, planning, and analysing projects in coordination with the operations team to ensure the scope of works, methodologies, progress, costs, and compliance is understood, controlled, and achieved.
- Administering projects to ensure variations and cost allocation are strategic, forecasted, within budget, and controlled.
- Assisting operations in identifying that correct resources, plants, or equipment are assigned correctly to achieve optimum productivity and profitability.
- Developing contingencies and alternatives to project delivery taking into consideration market factors, constraints, and availabilities.
- Liaising with and proactively responding to client needs and expectations, including variations, handover, and extensions, while negotiating and resolving commercial issues.
- Taking a proactive lead during bid and tendering processes by working with the business development team to drive growth in the business.
- Ensuring correct cost allocations, claims, and invoicing are controlled and reflected in monthly progress reports.
- Facilitating regular onsite or in-office meetings to assess the progress of work and claims.
- Forecasting and proactively seeking future market opportunities to position the organisation for future growth.

**ABOUT YOU**

For you to be successful in this position you will need to have the proven ability to build strong relationships with external clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders whilst working across and diverse project environment. We seek a Commercial Manager who can influence and guide teams to ensure project outcomes are achieved and who can proactively meet our client expectations in a professional and timely manner.

**QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE**
- Previous experience in a similar role with a comprehensive understanding of local government service contracts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of outdoor grounds and asset maintenance projects.
- Relevant qualifications in project or construction management or related discipline.
- Proven ability to seek constructive outcomes in contract negotiations, including the ability to influence others and defend commercial positions.
- Experience in subcontractor management, including a sound understanding of guarantees, warranties, and insurance.
