**Position Information**:
Bankstown Hospital School is an SSP situated within the Paediatric Ward of Bankstown Hospital, providing an educational service to hospitalised students from pre-school to Year 12.
Bankstown Hospital School is located in South West Sydney and welcomes students from all diverse backgrounds, with varying physical and mental health care needs. Individualised education plans are developed for all students and support is provided for their educational, social and intellectual needs.
All students are provided with an inclusive, collaborative and connected environment that supports optimal educational growth, giving all students an opportunity to thrive during challenging and complex situations. The school has a vision that all students are independent learners, have a growth mindset and are lifelong long learners.
Staff at the school provide highly individualised and differentiated learning experiences and programs, provide a safe and welcoming environment while working closely with parents, carers, community members and allied health care professionals.
Staff work alongside and collaboratively with health specialists to ensure students are placed at the core of all decision making, their welfare needs are catered for and teacher practice is of a high standard.

Demonstrated visible and instructional leadership that empowers all staff to collaboratively design, deliver and evaluate innovative teaching and wellbeing programs
Exceptional leadership that builds strong relationships and connections with students, families, health care professionals and schools across the network
Effective internal communication, with the ability to generate and listen to innovative ideas, embrace collaborative professionalism, and support staff members through a period of change
Effective leadership that supports and drives the new NSW Public Schools Plan while focusing on continuous improvement, curriculum reform and building the capacity of all staff
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
