Position InformationWoolbrook Public School is in the village of Woolbrook, 25 kilometres from Walcha and 66 kilometres from Tamworth. The school is part of the Armidale Principals Network and has a current enrolment of 11 students from a combination of both town and surrounding rural properties.
Staff includes a full-time Teaching Principal, a classroom teacher, a School Administrative Manager, a School Learning Support Officer, a Cleaner and General Assistant.
The school benefits greatly from involved parents and a supportive community with an operational Parents and Citizens Association, where meetings attract a good attendance. The school has links with Dunghutti Aboriginal Elders and work closely with the Aboriginal community.
There is a strong and relentless focus on literacy and numeracy, with flexible groupings and differentiated curriculum utilised to optimise the learning of students across all stages. Technology is an integral part of each day's learning, seamlessly supporting the teaching of all Key Learning Areas.
The Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction works closely with school staff to provide tiered interventions that focus on Literacy and Numeracy outcomes for students.
A continued focus on Literacy and Numeracy; building of teacher capacity in use of data and assessment and explicit teaching practices will support future growth of Woolbrook Public School.
Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the complex role of a teaching principal.
- Expertise to lead evidence based, future focused quality teaching practices to provide enrichment opportunities, differentiated curriculum and maximise learning outcomes for all students.
- A highly visible, approachable and inspiring leader who builds authentic connections and collaboration with colleagues, parents, community and external agencies to enhance a culture of quality education based on the Plan for NSW Public Education.
High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP1 for 2025.
