**About Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA)**
VARA operates out of Perth Airport and has a fleet of F100 and A320 aircraft that predominantly conduct charter operations throughout regional Western Australia. VARA continued to operate throughout COVID-19 and beyond to support our major clients in the mining industry, and the future is exciting and prosperous.
**What you’ll be doing**:
The Head of Operations Control Centre is responsible for the overall management and effectiveness of the Operations Delivery department, including coordination of all operational departments, management of Ground Handling Agents, Aircraft Cleaning, Catering and Freight/Cargo services (under SLA with VAA where applicable), as well as overseeing the effective management of crewing, aircraft allocation, schedule variations and charter requirements. You’ll be based in our Perth head office in the CBD and will be leading a team of Operations Controllers.
Your role forms part of the VARA Senior Leadership Team and provides input into all aspects of the business.
**You’ll be great in this role if you**:
- Have a high level of knowledge and understanding about business improvements and processes
- Understand how to optimise productivity, cost efficiencies, risk and change management
- Come with a high level of knowledge of regulatory and security requirements:
- Risk Management training
- Change management training
- Safety System training
- Have significant management experience with Airline RPT/Charter operations
- Have a strong customer service focus and operate as a team player with your peers and team
- Are a natural born leader with proven experience leading and coaching medium-size teams
- Have experience in aviation project management
- Possess solid working knowledge of business development and strategic planning
