**About the Opportunity**

ASC is committed to continuously enhancing our organisational capabilities, particularly in supporting critical programs such as the Collins Class Submarine Sustainment and Life of Type Extension (LOTE). The Payroll Team Lead oversees payroll for a diverse workforce, ensuring accurate processing and compliance. Duties include coordinating payroll, resolving issues, and collaborating with HR and Finance. The role involves team management, guidance, and training, requiring strong payroll knowledge and communication skills.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage and develop payroll team members, supporting their growth and training while ensuring individual objectives align with business requirements.
- Prioritise and manage payroll tasks through team collaboration and meetings, utilising project management tools for oversight and communication of deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related statutory requirements and regulations, supporting team members in best practices related to Enterprise Agreements and contracts, and assisting the Group Shared Services Manager with global compliance.
- Set a high standard for customer service and professionalism, engaging with stakeholders and providing clear communication to effectively resolve issues.
- Assist in payroll-related projects and resolve complex payroll matters.
- Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll, managing payroll documentation and end-of-financial-year requirements.
- Lead the payroll team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in work allocation, providing constructive feedback and support for professional development.
- Conduct payroll processes according to best practices with mínimal audit findings, managing tax obligations and supporting audits as required.

**About you**
- 3-5 years demonstrated experience with high volume payroll in a large complex environment
- 2-3 years demonstrated experience in leading a small team
- Well versed on payroll legislative requirements and other relevant employment legislation requirements
- Knowledge of awards/EBAs
- Demonstrated experience with Chris21 payroll systems (strongly desired)
- Highly resistant, with flexibility to manage multiple priorities
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong commitment to the provision of service excellence

**Eligibility**

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
