The Life team provides reinsurance services for the life industry in Australia and New Zealand. We operate in Retail, Group and Direct markets, with expertise in many areas, such as product, pricing, claims management and underwriting. The Commercial team oversees Munich Re’s Life client relationships, with a focus on Retail and Direct insurance. Some services are also provided to the Group insurance team. The team provides advice into all aspects of pricing, product design, claims, underwriting. The team also brings Munich Re’s global insights and capabilities to the Australian and New Zealand market.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Strategy & Operations, this is a 12 month contract opportunity to cover parental leave.

**Your Role**
- Inforce management excellence - Contribute to our process of writing, negotiating and executing treaty documents
- Elicit feedback, find practical, pragmatic ways to address issues and obtain signoffs
- Ensure management are aware of the risks of accepting proposed treaty wording
- Provide accurate and insightful advice to our teams in respect of our treaty rights and obligations to assist with negotiations, disputes or general queries
- Business for the long-term - Develop standard treaty templates (Retail & Group) that meet our local and global standards
- Work with the Group Pricing team to tailor the standard template for specific insurers
- Develop relationships with treaty managers at key clients. Proactively discuss issues, agree improvements and influence treaty wording
- Be across developments in (re)insurance industry and actively consider the potential impact on (current and future) treaty documents

**Your Profile**
- You will have experience in treaty or contract negotiations and drafting
- In-depth knowledge of the Australian (re)insurance industry
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation ability
- Inspire team performance
