**About the Assignment**

To provide financial information and analysis for the Barossa project, including assisting in financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting, and recognizing the demand of the project’s cost and schedule targets. The Finance Analyst will work with the other members of the finance and cost control teams to ensure analysis for all areas provides a clear understanding of:

- Business financial performance
- The financial impacts of key business decisions
- Individual cost drivers

**Tasks include**:
Business partnering
- Act as finance business partner to the Barossa project, working with multiple stakeholders
- Responsible for day to day understanding of the project financial activities
- Support cost reduction / optimization initiatives

Joint venture management
- Ensure compliance with terms of the Joint Operating Agreements
- Provide input to Cost Control team for preparation of WP&B and AFE for the Joint Venture
- Coordinate the creation or modification of JV master data
- Prepare JV cash requirements forecasts. Review, approve and issue JV cash calls
- Provide required inputs for monthly JV financial reporting obligations (e.g. JV expenditure & contribution statements)
- Coordinate JV & external audits for the project as required (inbound & outbound).
- Manage responses or close out actions

Project finance management
- Responsible for quality, timeliness and accuracy of data in SAP S/4, in relation to the Barossa project
- Prepare analysis and commentary for monthly results
- Work with Cost Control to prepare annual budget by project scope
- Work with Cost Control to prepare quarterly forecasts
- Support project cost control team with contractor cost reporting including forecast and analysis
- Review and challenge allocation of costs into the asset
- Ownership of relevant departmental cost centers. Monitor and manage residual costs
- Develop supporting processes for the Barossa project
- Manage processes in readiness for maintaining fixed asset register
- Manage processes in relation to managing warehouse inventory and spares
- Provide input to monthly flash results for EVP reporting

Corporate reporting
- Support corporate reporting requirements as requested.

Month end
- Support cost control team in preparation, review and posting of monthly accruals
- Advise on and prepare one-off / ad hoc journals
- Perform required financial analysis for the asset
- Provide project-specific commentary to feed to monthly Asset Performance Review (APR)

This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.

Location for this assignment is Perth working full-time office hours.

**About You**
- 4+years accounting experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- Sound knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Highly proficient in MS office products and data modelling / manipulation
- Experienced SAP user preferable

**Mandatory Tickets / Quals / Certs**
- Accounting, Commerce or similar Tertiary Degree
- Completed, or working towards, professional qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent)
