**Organisation Overview**

Established in 1964, the Animal Welfare League South Australia (AWL SA) is an iconic not for profit organisation operating as the state’s largest animal shelter with more than 9,000 incoming animals a year. With a focus on re-homing of lost, surrendered and abandoned animals, AWL SA proudly provides animal welfare and care through the development and provision of high-quality services for animals in need. **Role Overview**

Based in Adelaide and reporting directly to the Board, this role is responsible for the leadership and management of all operational matters and activities at AWL SA. The CEO will work collaboratively with the Board, the Members, the Employees and Volunteers to ensure the highest quality outcomes relating to the AWL’s vision, values and core business.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing sound leadership and driving the implementation of the strategic plan in order to achieve the organisational objectives;
- Developing innovative business plans and identifying new business development opportunities to generate revenue streams;
- Managing the organisation’s financial performance and resources while continually enhancing service delivery;
- Maintaining a safe work environment and promoting a positive organisational culture that focuses on safety, workforce capability and professional development;
- Developing, implementing and reviewing effective policies while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
