**The opportunity**:
As the Defence Enabling Services Chapter Lead, your role is two-fold where you will combine your deep expertise in Project Delivery and business with people leadership. Through your passion for leadership you connect, engage, and develop your chapter members so they deliver value aligned to Telstra’s strategic roadmap.

You will directly shape the design, implementation and delivery of strategic programs that leverage insights and operational excellence to drive improved business performance and customer experience.

This role is responsible for the execution of the Defence Enabling Services functions through setting clear objectives for a team. Designing control systems, establishing and when required, changing structures and processes to get the work done, allocating resources, monitoring compliance of work and performance and solving problems.

This role will shape and oversee the delivery of the following functions through direct reports performing the functions:

- Invoicing - Management of invoicing requests through from Project Delivery to Defence Billing Services. Including governance over compliance to contracted timeframes and oversight of Revenue Assurance through the invoicing activities.
- Procurement and Logistics - Management of procurement and logistics functions including the planning and management of Telstra and Defence owned equipment as well as processing of individual procurement and freight requests.
- Leased Lines - Management of commissioning, decommissioning and migration of IP and data services in line with regulatory, Telstra and Defence requirements


**Your key responsibilities and major tasks include, but are not limited to**:

- You will work alongside the Project Delivery and Customer Delivery Teams to deliver on the direction and strategy of the Customer Delivery function in the above areas, managing priorities and outcomes of the functions in line with the Account’s priorities
- Host and facilitate Chapter Syncs to align and drive consistency in the capabilities of the chapter including improving practices, facilitating shared learnings and techniques, skill development and communicating changes.
- Identifying opportunities to innovate and create new business operations practices/approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness including through the reflection of internal stakeholder groups and customer feedback.
- Manage a team, including set up and tracking of development plans, regular 1:1 meetings, Workday functions, support of escalations etc.
- Actively maintaining a talent pipeline for the chapter to ensure that workforce strategy objectives are achieved, and talent retention realised.
- Managing resource allocation, including recruitment and/or selection, to ensure capability required is available and resourcing issues are mitigated, in collaboration with Group Owners.
- Providing clarity to chapter members on current and future capability requirements to enable them to own and drive their development so they can continually grow and add value in different ways.

- Strong People management experience
- Strong Project Management Experience
- Understanding of DSDM, PMBOK and agile methodology
- Ability to prepare and analys reports and data to facilitate process improvements
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a proven record developing positive and transparent stakeholder relationships
- Highly Desirable: PMP Certification and/or equivalent qualification
- ** Hold a minimum of Baseline AGSVA security clearance**
