**About the State Library**

The State Library of New South Wales is one of Australia's oldest and most important public institutions. Its rich collections, both physical and digital, alongside partnerships with the public library network across NSW and other vibrant collaborations enable Australians to examine their past and imagine their future. The State Library's Public Library Services Branch (PLS) provides specialist advice and support to all local councils providing public library services to the people of NSW. The PLS Branch assists the Library Council of NSW to meet its objects and duties under the Library Act 1939 in relation to public libraries, manages the State Government’s public library grants and subsidies programs, and provides expert advice on the management and development of public libraries including library buildings, connectivity, collections and information services. The Branch also provides cooperative information services with public libraries including find legal answers, drug info at your library and a circulating collection of books in 40 community languages.

**About the Role**

The Grants and Subsidies Officer provides financial, statistical and purchasing services to Public Library Services by making the public library subsidy and grants payments, monitoring the Public Library Funding Strategy expenditure and acquittal, and producing financial and statistical information, to ensure that the administrative delivery of the programs operate efficiently.

**Knowledge and Experience**

To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge and experience:

- Knowledge and experience in the preparation and interpretation of statistical and financial reports.
- Client service skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at a range of levels.
- Administrative knowledge and experience including strong word, excel and web-editing skills, and experience in the preparation of formal meeting agendas, papers and minutes.
