Strategic Grants is a mission driven company with the aim of building the capacity of non-profit organisations through the provision of strategic planning, tools and resources related to grant readiness and effective grant-seeking. They aim to build the understanding between grant-seekers and grant-makers. They are a team of professionals, all of whom have a heart for the charitable sector and the multitude of causes that their charity partners exist to support. As such, all of their services are customised to ensure that a relevant and strategic approach is applied to grant-seeking activities.
The Grants Strategist & Client Manager will deliver a multi-faceted function covering client management, grant writing, delivery of training and conference presentations, networking and identifying business development opportunities. This role will regularly liaise with clients across all mediums to manage or guide their grants programs by providing strategic, appropriate advice and support that enhances the client organisation’s capacity to raise revenue through grants. This will also include training and advising clients in effective, best practice relationship development and stewardship of grant makers. You will attend networking events and have the ability to identify prospective new business opportunities and report these to the Head of BD and Sales.
Reporting to the Client Services Managers, this role will assist with high standard grant submissions, government tenders and grant-writing, adhering to briefs, guidelines and deadlines. This role also has the opportunity to deliver grant-seeker workshops, webinars, half-day organisational workshops and other training materials, and contribute to Strategic Grants blogs and social media posts. You will ensure all projects, records and notes are up-to-date in the online project management system and provide other administrative support required.
About YOU
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including grant and/or copywriting skills, presentation skills and workshop facilitation,
- Exceptional researching and interpretation skills, plus strong attention to detail, particularly in the review of grant guidelines and applicants’ responses,
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and able to develop strong relationships with stakeholders,
- Effective time management skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritise and meet deadlines,
- Aptitude for business development activities,
- Understanding of the non-profit sector and the need to seek funds through strategic fundraising programs,
- Experience with CRMs, data entry and reporting, as well as the suite of Microsoft programs,
- You are a self-starter and effective team player with both internal and external stakeholders,
- You ideally have a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications (or similar), and a current drivers licence.
- Strategic Grants_ offers a flexible working environment. The team works across various parts of Australia and New Zealand and embraces technology to work together through their virtual, dynamic office. This role will ideally be based in Perth, Sydney or Melbourne. Other locations can be considered. _
