**About the company**
A local government authority based south of the city are looking for an HR Compliance Officer to support their people and culture team. This role is key to the success of the people & culture delivery model and is deemed as the conduit and entry point for all P&C related enquires.This is a full-time role, working Monday - Friday, the council offer hybrid flexible working. The position is initially a 3 month role and could lead to longer term opportunities.
**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Oversee and action the central P&C inbox by responding to enquiries and providing first level HR advice on policy and procedures
- Prepare and process a range of employment correspondence
- Assist with the P&C budget forecast and monitor monthly and year to date spend
- Report on budget expenditure, and arrange regular meetings to discuss trends and budget issues
- Prepare and distribute regular and ad hoc P&C reports
- Respond to employee queries and issues with the HR System (HRIS) access and provide system administration support as required
- Maintain, monitor, and report on employment compliance including Working with Children Checks, VIT registrations, National Criminal Checks, Licenses and Qualifications and other mandatory requirements for job roles.
- Proactively identify opportunities to create and update content for P&C SharePoint site, including the regular publishing of staff movements and updates.
- Create, update and implement P&C processes, leveraging the Promapp system, proactively recommending opportunities for continuous improvement as required
- Support the People and Culture team with the scheduling meetings and events and coordinating agenda and minutes
**You will have the following**:
- Working toward or completion of a degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field, and/or relevant experience working in a high-volume administrative role
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Demonstrated customer-centric approach, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail, along with experience working with sensitive and confidential information
- Tech savvy with intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with experience in manipulating and presenting data. Exposure to HRIS systems is desirable
