**About the role**

Operating out of our new, technology driven space in Cremorne (Melbourne), you’ll join a 250 strong technology team that handles everything from Product Management and Engineering to Data and AI.

The Security Operations Lead is responsible for the day-to-day management of securing monitoring, prevention, and detection of technical securing incidents across the group. This includes monitoring information sources such as the SIEM and other data sources for security anomalies and performing triage and initial incident investigations.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Continuously improve our security posture through prevention, detection, response, and remediation of information security risk.
- Work as a change agent to lead the growth our security operations capability.
- Investigate and analyse security events and incidents from triage to remediation.
- Assist with building and implementing tools to automate security monitoring and tasks.
- Work with key stakeholders to identify, respond to, and remediate information security issues.
- Threat hunting for malicious and anomalous activity.
- Develop a backlog of strategic initiatives and ensure that this is socialised and endorsed with the broader team and Head of Information Security.
- Lead, mentor and coach a team of security specialists to deliver on the team vision, to champion agile practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

**About you**

We are seeking a talented security SME with:

- Experience in Security Operations, Information Security, Technology, or similar; with a strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, incident response, and risk management processes.
- Experience implementing and operating security technologies to identify, address, resolve, and provide recommendations around security threats, vulnerabilities, incidents, and events.
- Have worked with security tools and platforms including SIEM, IPS/IDS, EDR, and SWG.
- Knowledge or experience in security standards such as NIST and ISO27001.
- Knowledge or experience with software development patterns and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of identity protocols and patterns such as SAML, OIDC and oAuth.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Experience with operating systems and domain environments such as Windows, Linux, and containerised workloads.
- Experience mentoring and/or leading a team to deliver results within technology.
- Ability to keep up to date with developments in the information security space, specifically with respect to vulnerabilities and their maturity.
