What you'll deliver with us

The position will focus on leading a team of software engineers developing the AWS Cloud Platform.   The role will be responsible for building and evolving Cloud Platforms with technical leadership in design, coding, and configuration.  The role requires in-depth experience with AWS.

Commercial & Strategic Priorities

• People leader responsibility for the AWS Platform Engineers
• Working at a senior level across the Engineering team, collaborating with architects, engineers, and customer experience experts
• Thought leadership and in depth experience implementing best practice automation on cloud, and DevOps engineering techniques, to design and implement secure, simple, and impactful solutions
• Software Engineering designer and implementor where you champion innovative coding solutions and take the teams around you on the journey of software development
• Expert in Cloud Platforms technologies, primarily AWS but not limited too.

3 years People Leader experience

•

AWS Cloud Platform technologies and services

•

Security and compliance Engineering concepts

•

Proven experience within AWS building and supporting secure code pipelines, CI/CD, using gitlab

•

Knowledgeable in multiple programming languages and an expert in some - golang, python preferred

Relationships

•

5 - 7 years demonstrated experience in developing and managing software/platform solutions

•

Stakeholder engagement and relationship building at all levels of the organisation. 

•

Drive new ways of working (Agile) across broader teams. 

Critical Knowledge

Market and Environment

• AWS certifications

Technical and/or Professional Qualifications/ Skills Required

• AWS Cloud Certifications are highly desirable
• Ideal to have other Cloud Certifications
• Subject matter expert for AWS Cloud Platform related activities
• 5 - 7 years engineering Cloud Platform solutions and seamless project vending/landing zone.
• Experienced in 2-3 software development languages, Golang, Open Policy Agent, YAML, JSON, Terraform
• Understanding of the cloud infrastructure level - VPCs, networks, security, Identity
• Experienced DevOps practitioner
• Experience with self-service provisioning automation and CI/CD pipelines, ideally Gitlab.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline
• Excellent planning, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
• Be a member of the 24 x 7 Support roster
