Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS6 Internal Review Case Officer for a 12-month assignment with potential extension in Melbourne.
About the Role
The Internal Review Case Officer will manage a portfolio of internal review requests. The internal review decisions that are made by the IRT are reviewable by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
The Case Officers will examine all relevant documentation relating to a request for review, request further information and consult with internal technical advisors where necessary to develop a recommendation. The Case Officer, in conjunction with a delegate, will develop a recommendation on a decision in response to the request, including collating the relevant supporting documentation and drafting reasons for the decision. The delegate will then review the recommendation and make a decision on the request.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Working closely with prospective participants and participants to understand the nature and context
- of their request for a decision to be reviewed.
- Making evidence-based review decisions in line with NDIS frameworks, as prescribed in the NDIS
- Act, NDIS rules, Operational Guidelines and NDIA policies.
- Communicating effectively with participants and their representatives to explain reasons for
- decisions, the review and appeals process and available options.
- Monitoring and managing caseloads and ensuring internal reviews are completed within a timely
- manner.
- Collaborating with team members to share and develop specialised knowledge in areas of
- expertise.
- Contributing to quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and
- systems.

- APS6 $58.50/ph + super
- Temporary contract for 12 months, with possibility to extend
- Standard Hours or work - Monday to Friday, 8:30 am till 5:00 pm
