**About the role**

Our Risk and Assurance team is instrumental in supporting Youi’s growth as we work towards achieving our Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG). Our Risk frameworks have been going through a period of transformation over the last couple of years and we’re looking for someone who has experience with mature models of risk and assurance frameworks to join us and hit the ground running.

As the Head of Risk and Assurance you will work closely with the Executive General Manager - Legal, Risk and Compliance and lead a team of engaged and motivated risk professionals to assume risk responsibly, resulting in profitable growth and the best service and products for our customers.

You will:

- Develop the risk awareness and intellectual capital of business through staff leadership, coaching, mentoring, education, awareness, and training
- Provide strategic thinking and business insight through thought leadership, practical guidance, continuous improvement, and enhancement of external networks
- Develop and maintain the Risk Management and Assurance frameworks for Support with a holistic view and business resilience and continuity in mind
- Provide oversight over financial and non-financial risks through 2nd line oversight and continuous uplift
- Deliver combined assurance through policies, standards, plans, forums, and control testing
- Support the risk activities for strategic initiatives and corporate insurance with new or emerging risks, regulatory changes and leadership with executives and the Board Risk Committee
- Leading by example through encouraging a collaborative working environment that delivers on Youi’s values.

**About you**
- Qualifications_
- Minimum: bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, law, actuarial or risk management
- Desirable: MBA or other Masters-level qualification in any of the above fields.
- Experience and knowledge_
- Significant Risk Management/Internal Auditing/Assurance experience in a financial services organisation
- Relevant experience partnering with an executive team
- Understanding of principles of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and methodologies in general
- Understanding of financial services particularly the general insurance market
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High attention to detail and proof-reading skills
- Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task & handle multiple project assignments and prioritisation of work to ensure on-time delivery
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Membership of relevant professional associations.
