
People & Culture Risk Specialist

**About the Role**
Our People & Culture (P&C) team are world class and are responsible for delivering a range of services including employee relations, workplace health & safety, learning & development, remuneration, employee performance and employee experience. Reporting to the Head of People & Performance, the newly created P&C Risk Specialist will coordinate and undertake a variety of first-line risk and compliance functions across the People and Culture Division. The role will include the management of risk incidents and issues, undertaking controls testing, assisting with the development and maintenance of effective risk management and compliance processes. You will work closely with the second-line Risk, Legal and Compliance team to support the P&C leadership team in delivering a comprehensive risk management and compliance program.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Partnering with P&C stakeholders to uplift risk controls over time.
- Ensure Risk Register Controls are adequately designed and periodically test they are operating effectively.
- Monitor risk incidents and issues and action in line with risk management frameworks.
- Manage rectification and remediation as required to resolve incidents and issues.
- Maintain regulatory compliance across P&C in line with recommendations from second-line Risk, Legal and Compliance.
- Assist the P&C Division to continuously improve risk awareness and control through information sharing and training.
- Monitor and report against relevant risk KRI’s to support maintenance within appetite.
- Support the P&C department’s approach to business continuity management by ensuring business impact analysis and business continuity plans are up to date and periodically tested for effectiveness.
**About you**:
- Tertiary qualifications in law, human resources, risk and or compliance related disciplines desirable.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a risk/compliance related discipline preferred.
- Experience managing human resource and employment risk will be considered favourably.
- Strong numeracy, analytical and MS Excel skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and influence various Stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills and ability to multitask.
- Proven ability to flex between strategy/thinking and detail/processing.
- An eagle eye for detail as well as a passion for improving processes and procedures.
