**The Position**

**St John of God Mt Lawley** is a 205 bed private hospital located on the banks of the Swan River. We are a major provider of Rehabilitation and surgical services across Western Australia. We have vast experience delivering inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation to both public and private patients. Our services are supported by a team of experienced leaders, nurses, allied health and medical caregivers.
- ** Pastoral Practitioners or Pastoral Associates** to join our Pastoral Services team in the delivery of pastoral ministry for the spiritual well-being of patients, families and caregivers.
- We are looking for applicants with a demonstrated commitment to a faith community and a sound ability to provide a professional pastoral presence.
- This is a permanent part-time contract offering 22.8 hours per fortnight.

- Demonstrated understanding of the provision of Pastoral care within a Catholic Health care environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional boundaries and contribute positively to a multi-disciplinary team.
- Flexibility with working hours including the ability and preparedness to undertake evening/weekend shift/on call duties as required.

**The successful**
**Pastoral Associate**
**will have**:

- Successful completion of a vocational certificate IV or above.
- Commitment to undertaking tertiary level pastoral studies at Diploma level.
- Commitment to undertaking at a minimum of 50 hours of supervised training in pastoral ministry i.e. SJOG Pastoral Supervised immersion experience, Clinical Pastoral Education.

**Pastoral Practitioner**
**will have**:

- Have completed or undertaking tertiary level pastoral studies at Diploma/Degree level.
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Pastoral ministry in a healthcare setting or equivalent.
- Successful completion of at a minimum 50 hours of supervised pastoral ministry e.g. Pastoral supervised immersion experience/Clinical pastoral education.
- Demonstrated ability to provide Pastoral support to patients and clients from a variety of faith, cultural and social backgrounds.
