Researchers at FHMRI are supported by experts in methodology, consumer engagement, and data analytics, with access to world-class facilities and a vibrant community of like-minded professionals.**About the Role**Based within the , the Associate Professor (Research) will lead and contribute to high-impact research within one or more strategically important areas aligned with MRFF and NHMRC priorities. These areas include:* Primary care and general practice* Dementia prevention and behavioural risk reduction* Implementation science* Genomics* Stem cell therapies* Mental health* Cardiovascular disease* Indigenous healthThis position will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of research within the College, driving growth through securing external funding, building international recognition, and fostering a vibrant research culture. The successful candidate will strengthen internal and external research collaborations, mentor early career researchers and higher degree research students, and provide leadership in developing successful research programs. They will also support staff and students in refining research plans, enhancing grant and publication outcomes, and building strong research track records in priority areas.**About You**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:* Completion of a PhD in health sciences, medicine, public health, or science/engineering with a medical focus.* Attraction of several competitive external grants or fellowships, with demonstrated success in MRFF, NHMRC, ARC or equivalent large scale grant schemes and as the lead investigator.* Significant experience in a senior academic or research leadership position with relevant Research Project management experience relevant to the research environment, including leadership of a large team.* High level of understanding of intellectual property and the commercialisation process in relation to a research environment.* Leadership skills, including the demonstrated ability to establish and make effective contributions to leadership within the College, students and industry nationally and/or internationally.**Life at Flinders**We're transforming and investing in people and facilities to create contemporary, stimulating, and satisfying learning and work environments that reflect our core values of excellence, innovation, courage, and integrity.
