Darlot is a subsidiary of Vault Minerals Limited, producing gold from a high grade, owner operated, underground mine. Darlot is focused on the future, optimising production and pursuing exploration programs to uncover new resources and extend the mine’s life. The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the **Underground Manager**provides leadership and direction to Vault employees and contractors, managing all aspects of the underground operations, including occupational health and safety, mine planning, development and production. The Underground Manager relieves as Alternate Site Senior Executive as required.

The position will be offered as an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from surrounding areas.

**Key responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Manage and coordinate underground mining activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, Vault site and corporate personnel, contractors, consultants and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with WA health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mining professionals.
- Develop and implement mining plans, schedules, operating and capital budgets.
- Monitor production performance and control cost, to meet or exceed business targets.
- Collaborate with the occupational health and safety, geology, and maintenance teams to optimise the mine performance.
- Prepare and present reports on operational and cost performance and project progress.
- Provide input to the scope and schedules for the preparation of commercial contracts.
- Identify and implement improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
- Proven leadership experience in a senior underground operational role.
- Ability to foster a positive safety culture and lead by example.
- Demonstrated operational, planning and mining technical capability.
- Strong commercial acumen to control cost and manage the financial performance of the mine.
- WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency.
- Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering.
- WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
