An exciting opportunity has become available in our legal team within the Department of Customer Service. In this litigation focused role you will be working in an interesting and fast paced regulatory environment with competing priorities.

- DCS Clerk Grade 7/8 Salary range: $101,947 - $112,849 + 10.5% Super, appropriate to experience

Under the supervision of a Managing Lawyer, you will provide high quality representation and legal advice to the Better Regulation Division of the Department, particularly in relation to prosecutions for breaches of work health and safety legislation.

You will be required to appear and/or instruct in prosecution matters and draft pleadings and other legal documentation related to these matters. You will also have carriage of civil and administrative proceedings on behalf of the Better Regulation Division. You will be required to provide legal advice in relation to other matters arising in regulatory enforcement and investigations as well.

**To be successful in this role you will demonstrate**:

- You have a Bachelor of Laws or equivalent degree qualification
- Admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and hold a current practising certificate as a solicitor
- Knowledge of two or more of the following: regulatory prosecutions, criminal law, work health and safety law, administrative law and NSW Court and tribunal practice and procedure
- Negotiation and advocacy skills
- You are a team player who can also work independently
- You are client focused and have excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $101947 base plus superannuation
