Our Student Engagement Officer is the first person our students get to know as they embark on their fulfilling new career. They assess each applicant and guide each new student through the enrolment process. They have strong relationship building, team-working, and customer service skills that sets our students up for success. They have initiative and drive that enable us to meet enrolment targets, and likely to have experience in a similar role in the education sector.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Respond to enquiries from prospective students, log their information in the CRM, make initial assessments on suitability for traineeships, and provide them with clear information and guidance.
- Manage the end-to-end enrolment and admissions process for Gowrie students.
- Develop strong relationships with prospective students, listen to and understand their specific motivation and barriers, and provide them with clear guidance and effective support to get them through the process efficiently.
- Develop a network of services to host placement students and employ trainees, develop strong working relationships, and nurture the ongoing relationship by understanding their needs and problem solving when any difficulties emerge.
- Match prospective trainees to Gowrie early learning services and external services, mentor them through the interview process, and provide updates to services and trainees in a timely manner.
- Support the smooth running of admissions operations, maintain the quality and accuracy of records, and ensure compliance against all relevant RTO policies and procedures.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- **
**Experience working within the VET or higher education sector in an admissions/ engagement role is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Skills First Funding requirements, and previous experience working with SBAT programs and/or Traineeships is highly desirable.
- Ability to guide and advise prospective students on study and career pathways with patience, empathy, and curiosity about their motivation and needs.
- Experience of working within, or an understanding of, the workings of the early childhood education & care sector is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated experience of using initiative and drive to meet set targets in a sales or recruitment function.
