Overview of the role
The role of the Principal Consultant is to manage all aspects of change management projects from initiation to completion to ensure a successful outcome for our customers. This includes the design, development and delivery of change management and training solutions for customers, pre-sales as well as leadership and development of team members. The location of the role is flexible to either Sydney or Melbourne.
Key areas
**Strategy Services**
- Advisory work, this includes initial consultation work to help customers define projects and provide a strategy to delivery.
**Customer Relationship Management**
- Positively influence and develop long-term business relationships with key customers through excellent customer service, solution design, and project initiation activities
- When managing projects resolve conflicts with customers where required, using appropriate techniques to negotiate towards a mutually satisfying outcome
- Translate leads on current projects into work extensions, with support from the Leadership team
- **Pre-Sales**
- Assist in the response to RFPs and proposals, including scoping and pricing and coordinating will all parties on required input
- Meet with customers during the sales process to understand requirements and present relevant information as change and training expert
**Team Management & Leadership**
- Lead project team members to a common goal, communicate the project vision and keep them motivated to perform the tasks required to reach project goals
- Identify the any skill gaps for team members and recommend appropriate training to/with the Executive GM
- Facilitate and encourage knowledge sharing within team, including information about customer and customer business required as part of project induction
- Provide constructive feedback in a timely manner and develop appropriate action plan to address emerging issues
- Develop and mentor Consultants / Lead Consultants into independent managers
- Assist with career development of project team members, setting KPIs
**Project Governance**
- Governance and other program management activities for one or more small to medium projects, including coordination of activities such as status updates, work plans, issue resolution with colleagues and stakeholders as required
**Project Operations and Management**
- Leading change management and training teams for large scale digital transformation projects. This includes:
- Adjusting work plans according to customer expectations as priorities change without compromising Atturra’s financial position
- Monitoring and controlling financial dimensions of a project - consumption of budget, management of margin, minimizing costs and consumption
- Ensuring early identification of issues and roadblocks that will impact the project and develop appropriate action plans to overcome them
- Completion of status reports to customer and Atturra that reflects percentage, workplan, budget and resource allocation
- Setting priorities for team members in alignment with the workplan and project goals
- Working within the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Conducting project set up and closedown activities according to ISO procedures
- Collect feedback and reference information
- Create case study based on completed project
- Contribute to professional practice and knowledge sharing in the professional community
Required skills and experience
- Demonstrated capability in solution design, project scoping and presales activities
- Demonstrated background in change management with previous experience running the change management stream for a complex ERP projects
- SAP Change management experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in delivering and managing training (classroom training, workshop training, eLearning), documentation, change management and/or communications projects of medium to large scale
- Demonstrated ability to lead and transfer skills to team members
- Demonstrated ability to deal with and provide judgments on staff development needs
- Comfortable with occasional national travel
