**About the facility**
- Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

**About the role**
- The Orthopaedic Research Assistant is responsible and accountable for managing and overseeing the conduct of all departmental clinical trials, orthopaedic registries, financial administration, study feasibility and all research ethics, governance and reporting associated with the Clinical Trials.
- Reporting to the Director of Orthopaedic Research, the Orthopaedic Research Assistant will:

- Screen and identify patients, scheduling pt. visits, source documentation, manage data, conduct trials according to protocol requirements, achieve recruitment targets and be responsibe for overall study management
- Daily decision making regarding the delivery of high-quality ethics and governance submissions for clinical trial research studies to be undertaken in the department, continuing notifications to REGI and data collection for clinical trials
- Have exceptional knowledge and understanding of clinical trial protocols
- To resolve and prioritise issues relating to Ethics and Governance processes
- Ensure that all clinical trial related activities are documented with the highest possible attention to detail and in accordance with GCP/ICH Research Guidelines and sponsor company standard operating procedures. Ensure all regulatory folders / investigator site files are maintained in keeping with stated guidelines
- Manage embedded Orthopaedic Registries (including Barwon Joint Registry, ANZ Hip Fracture Registry).
