Climate Analytics sits within the New Markets team, which aims to work with customer segments new to Munich Re. You will report to the Head of New Markets.

The aim of Climate Analytics is to support our clients (both internal and external) to better understand, measure and manage the current & future physical climate risk exposure within their portfolios.

**Your Role**
- Lead the design and delivery of climate, geospatial, and business analytics solutions to support the New Markets Climate strategy, delivering high quality insights relevant to New Market target clients, and the Non-Life core reinsurance business
- Lead the team to maintain the Non-Life department’s target culture and achieve the business imperatives
- Source and maintain data to derive valuable actionable insights. Build, maintain and champion the underlying data capability. Ensure ongoing compliance with the Munich Re data governance framework
- Identify, engage and develop partners internal and external to Munich Re
- Present, interpret and discuss conclusions, inferences or results of analytical projects to a range of audiences
- Deliver valuable business insights to support the core reinsurance business such as enabling informed decisions and improved risk assessments, more accurate claims estimates following large events, and using data analytics to build predictive financial analyses
- Lead the risk management activities for the Climate Analytics function, within our Risk Management Framework

**Your Profile**
- Tertiary qualifications in Natural Sciences, Climate Science or Geospatial information management
- Insurance / Reinsurance experience
- Previous experience in leading teams
- 5+ years’ experience in assessment of Physical Climate risk or natural hazards
- 5+ years’ experience in data science / management (e.g. Geospatial tools, ArcGIS, Databricks, Python, R, SQL)
- Experience using data modelling techniques to solve business problems
- Ability to develop and deliver action plans to support the execution and achievement of strategic goals
- Risk management frameworks
