Consultant
to join our
Climate and Decarbonisation Advisory team
. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who's passionate about climate action and eager to contribute to Australia's transition to a low-carbon future.
In this role, you'll work closely with experienced consultants to support the development of decarbonisation strategies, roadmaps, and action plans for a diverse range of clients. You'll gain hands-on experience across projects that drive real-world impact, while building your technical and strategic capabilities in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
This role can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.
What You'll Be Doing
- Strategy & Planning Support: Assist in the development of decarbonisation roadmaps, plans, and strategies for clients across government, corporate, and infrastructure sectors.
- Data & Analysis: Support emissions assessments (Scope 1, 2, and 3), help identify reduction opportunities, and contribute to research on energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices.
- Policy & Standards Research: Help interpret climate-related policies, standards (e.g., PAS 2080), and net zero frameworks to inform client strategies.
- Project Delivery: Contribute to the delivery of advisory projects by supporting project coordination, documentation, and reporting.
- Collaboration & Learning: Work alongside senior consultants and subject matter experts, learning from their experience and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
- Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings and workshops, helping to capture insights and contribute to solution development.
About You
You're a motivated early-career professional with a genuine passion for climate action and sustainability, and you're looking to build on your existing experience in a consulting role. You've had exposure to decarbonisation, emissions reduction, or climate strategy through hands-on project work, and you're eager to deepen your expertise in developing roadmaps, plans, and strategies that support clients on their net zero journey. You bring strong analytical and communication skills, enjoy working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and are proactive in contributing to meaningful, real-world outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- At least 2 years' experience in sustainability, climate change, infrastructure, or environmental consulting (including internships or graduate roles).
- Familiarity with emissions reduction strategies, carbon accounting, or climate risk assessment is a plus.
- Understanding of Australia's climate policy landscape and net zero goals is desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to reports and presentations.
