**About the role**

We have a position that is available within our dynamic and successful Undergrad Plus & GradPlus Program as we increase our intake of nursing students and graduates.

This is an in-house facilitation role and primary responsibility is of facilitating and mentoring Undergraduate students of different skill levels from various universities and new graduates. This is to be achieved by providing **clinical teaching with a ‘hands on’ approach.**

As a facilitator you will be able to utilise your excellent clinical skills and theoretical knowledge to educate and support the students and new graduates. This role is a varied one which often requires patience and flexibility on the part of the facilitator.

Ideally you will be able to commit to facilitating in week blocks with flexible part-time hours, dependant on student numbers. If required to complete your contracted hours you will be rostered to work in a clinical area.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Orientate undergraduate students and new graduates to our facility and respective wards.
- Work in partnership with students and new graduates to determine appropriate educational goals and facilitate opportunities for these to be achieved.
- Conducting “on-the-job” clinical facilitation at the bedside in the clinical area
- Provision of clinical “hands on” teaching for students
- Provide bedside mentoring and education to support professional development and learning needs of nursing students and graduates
- Complete university specific & Gradplus assessment and appraisal forms.
- Design and run specific educational sessions including at regional Study Days.
- Evaluate student progress and provide written and verbal feedback.
- For students and new graduates that are not at the expected skill level, you will need to implement learning plans to endeavour to increase their knowledge base and work towards a positive outcome.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Current registration as a Registered nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in Acute Care
- Training or Teaching Qualifications or working towards same
- Recent experience in clinical facilitation or teaching undergraduate students
- Excellent work ethic, time management skills & the ability to work independently and within a team, actively supporting the day to day management of patient care
- Demonstrates excellent verbal, written communication and computer skills
- Passionate about education and interested in the development of the Undergrad Plus/Gradplus programs
