**(HEO6) $89,383 - $96,550 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.**

**Fixed term, full-time 12-month position available**

The Linguist is based in Adelaide and works under the general direction of the Manager, MLT on linguistic issues relating to community language projects in regional locations in South Australia. The Linguist produces linguistic analyses of complex language databases and archival materials held at the MLT to increase understanding of SA Aboriginal languages. In conjunction with the Manager, MLT the Linguist provides general supervision and support to other linguistic staff including the Linguistics Officer and Project Linguist.

The Linguist also provides advice on second language learning and assists with the integration of existing MLT Aboriginal language resources with Tauondi Corporation Certificate II, III and IV training courses. The Linguist also delivers linguistic training components in Aboriginal community workshops.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Ability to develop and populate complex language databases that reflect the state of SA Indigenous languages.
- Proven ability to produce clear, high-quality linguistic analyses from complex language databases that reflect the state of Indigenous languages.
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
- Ability to produce or contribute to academic publications.
- Ability to work with a variety of digital linguistic tools (Flex, Elan, Excel) and social media platforms.

This position requires a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check
