About the job:
The Event Planner will work directly with the client to create their special event. The successful applicant will be required to plan and co-ordinate in the lead up to and including working on the day of the event to ensure the clients expectations are meet.

Work location:
We run all our events from the one location
- East Elevation in Brunswick East. Working from home is optional for the administrative and planning duties if you prefer.

Attendance at the workplace for Venue Inspections, event set-up and for the client’s function (usually Fri, Sat or Sun) is required.

Meetings with clients will occur on site at East Elevation or via phone or videoconference.

The Event Planner is responsible for:

- Providing formal quotes and enquiry follow up
- Meeting with the client (in person or via phone/videoconference) to plan their event.
- Creating and documenting the event run sheet with the client
- Offering additional services where applicable
- Liaising with our accounts team to set up the client profile in our accounts system
- Confirming the menu and dietary requests with the client (2 weeks out) liaising with the kitchen where necessary and ensuring the wedding plan accurately reflects menu choices.
- Preparing and circulating a run sheet on the Monday prior to an event.
- Co-ordinating FOH Staff for the event
- Organising and co-ordinating wait staff for the event
- Liaising with owners on staffing arrangements
- Placing orders with vendors, ensuring orders are filled and invoiced correctly
- Planning deliveries and collections.
- Attending each client’s event to supervise staff to set up the venue, direct vendors and greet and direct the client.
- Ensuring the areas to be utilised during an event are set up as planned.

Key selection criteria
- Available to work weekends and delay major holidays until the off-season
- Previous experience in a smilar role
- A great eye for the finest detail
- A warm, caring and engaging personality
- Effectively supervise and give direction to others
- Confidence under pressure and flexibility to resolve issues

Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience working in wedding/event production or hospitality
- RSA certification
- Other duties as may be reasonably requested or required
