**The Role**
Under the routine direction of the Commanding Officer, Defence Force School of Policing, the ICT Manager will work along-side Military, Australian Public Servants and contracted personnel who deliver training in a variety of Defence telecommunication suites and platforms at the Defence Force School of Policing.

In this role, you may be required to travel interstate on occasions, to liaise with other Defence ICT Managers, undertake training and investigate new technologies that could benefit the Defence Force School of Policing. You will support training staff by ensuring ICT training systems and classroom room facilities, are maintained for the delivery of training for Defence personnel.

You will provide advice and support to instructional staff who use a variety of training methods including instructor-led, distance learning, and on-line self-paced learning packages.

The APS 6 ICT Manager will:

- Be able to manage ICT projects.
- Communicate effectively on behalf of the Defence Force School of Policing with a range of stakeholders in relation to Defence ICT.
- Manage staff & student ICT and data access.
- Manage, maintain and administer the Defence Force School of Policing standalone hardware and network systems.
- Manage and maintain the Defence Force School of Policing SharePoint intranet web page and collaboration sites.
- Act as the Information Technology Security Officer.
- Be able to confidently trouble shoot issues and find workable solutions to problems.
- Provide initial ICT user support for Staff & Students.
- Introduce into service new ICT capabilities to support training at the Defence Force School of Policing
- Manage the governance around all the Defence Force School of Policing ICT.

The APS6 ICT Manager will be encouraged to pursue self-improvement and professional development to keep abreast of current and emerging technologies.

The Defence Force School of Policing is a unit of the Defence Command Support Training Centre and is located at Lamia Barracks within Holsworthy Barracks, approximately 40kms from Sydney CBD.

The Defence Force School of Policing is made up of the Unit Headquarters, which includes the Training Systems Support Cell (TSSC); the Police Training Wing (PTW); and the Defence Force Correctional Establishment (DFCE). The TSSC works closely with PTW and DFCE.
