As the Shut Down Manager, you’ll provide leadership, technical, and administrative assistance to maintenance, renewals and project teams in the planning and delivery of key works in Early Weeknight and Weekend occupations. You’ll conduct a critical examination of work practices to identify problems, and initiate/develop work procedures to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
In this position you’ll lead and manage site teams, engaging and empowering members to achieve great outcomes for passengers, employees, and the business, as aligned to Metro’s strategic plan and business objectives.
**Main duties include**:
- Critical examination of work practices to identify problems and initiate/develop alternative work procedures to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.-
- Assist with planning work tasks and resources to maximise time on tools and the output of the teams.-
- Ensure adequate resources and equipment is available for all works including emergency conditions to restore services within critical timeframes.-
- Ensure all information systems used are effective in terms of timely and correct information input.-
- Develop and manage delivery, and review progress against plans to ensure they are on schedule and take effective remedial action as required.-
- Lead and manage site teams, engaging and empowering members to achieve great outcomes for passengers, employees and the business aligned to Metro’s strategic plan and business objectives.-
- Engage key stakeholders across the team, division and broader organisation ensuring that beneficial relationships are developed and maintained.-
- Implement Infrastructure maintenance, renewals, upgrades and construction requirements and installation methods.**About you**:
- 5+ Years Rail Experience - mandatory.-
- Experience in rail industry specific works planning, occupation management and/or infield network knowledge.-
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate for key outcomes.-
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.-
- Experience in planning for Maintenance and Renewals Teams - preferred.-
- Experience in using project management methodologies - preferred.-
- Excellent public speaking, presentation and negotiation skills - preferred.**Ready to apply? Great**
