Essential Energy is an NSW Government-owned corporation with responsibility for building, operating and maintaining Australia’s largest electricity network that spans 95 per cent of New South Wales land mass and parts of southern Queensland.

Essential Energy delivers essential electricity network services to more than 800,000 homes and businesses in 1,500 regional, rural, and remote communities across extremes of terrain and climate.

Essential Energy is one of the largest employers in regional NSW with approximately 3000 employees based in depots and offices across three regions, including approximately 2000 field staff.

Essential Energy also provides water and sewerage services to 20,000 customers in Far West NSW.

Essential Energy is responsible for building and maintaining almost 200,000 kilometres of power lines, 1.4 million power poles, 136,000 distribution substations and 326 Zone substations that span a diverse geographical area across 95 percent of NSW

**The Opportunity**

As Manager of Asset and Operations Application Services you will be responsible for developing the maturity and improve the overall capability and quality of the People, Processes and Technology within the Asset and Operations Application Services department.

You will be responsible for providing outstanding technical and people leadership and implementing best practise approaches to support IT business systems (including but not limited to Enterprise Asset Management Systems, Vegetation Management Systems, Geospatial Information Systems and Computer Aided Design systems) across internal and external support teams.

**Skills and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in asset and operations management systems (e.g. EAM, Salesforce, Vegetation Management systems etc.) with desirable experience in the electricity distribution industry
- A technical mindset with the ability to identify, understand and define problems, evaluate alternatives, set priorities, manage projects and implement high quality solutions
- Working knowledge of asset management practices and standards including ISO55001
- Strong understanding of commercial considerations and risk management principles including consequence, likelihood and residual risk.
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people to enhance understanding and drive decisions that lead to positive outcomes
