About the Role
The purpose of this role is to assist in ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing needs of the organisation are met, and their leaders are appropriately engaged in health safety and wellbeing.
Reporting into the Principal, Safety Operations - Facility Based Care and Services, this role will provide advice and support for operational health, safety, and wellbeing matters. This role will also support (and be supported by) both the Safety Operations team and the wider Health, Safety and Wellbeing team.
- Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives.
- Assist in the investigating of incidents, assess risks and provide support to systems for Health Safety and Wellbeing management.
- Assist in the provision of analytics, reports and advisory services to line managers and staff across a range of Health Safety and Wellbeing functions.
- Coordinate and participate in the development and delivery of training programs, workshops and presentations on a range of Health Safety and Wellbeing topics.
- Record and prepare minutes, prepare agendas for distribution, correspondence and other relevant administrative tasks for Health Safety and Wellbeing.
- Undertake research on relevant HSW matters.
- Contribute to policy, procedure and process reviews.
- Participate as a member of a work team by building and maintaining cooperative relationships and contribute to quality improvement activities.
- Support the planning, coordination and implementation of audit programs, fire and safety inspections as required at the facility, division and departmental level.
- Maintain records/reports on training, audits, inspections and investigations of a range of workforce practices and matters to comply with legislation and facility policy.
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds, gender, identity, ages or abilities. Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- While not mandatory relevant qualification and/or experience in the area of Health, Safety and Wellbeing or relevant discipline would be highly regarded.
