**About Your Role**:
The Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) provides a critical role in safeguarding Australia through a world-class, compliant and safe Defence and national security explosives research capability.
The Test Facility Manager will play a critical role in providing management, supervision, safety, technical, logistics, facilities, and operations support to the Defence EO science and technology (S&T) research program and staff.
This role is essential in supporting the Rocket Motor Firing Facility (MTA) at RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia, and ensuring its efficient and safe operations.
**This is an initial 12 months fixed term contract + multiple extension**
- Day-to-day management and coordination of maintenance and compliance for DST Group's rocket motor test facilities, including EO storage, inspection, processing, and conditioning facilities
- Providing rocket motor Firing Officer services, along with support and training for DST researchers and Firing Officers
- Offering expert advice to facilitate the development or revision of procedures, instructions, and safe operating procedures
- Monitoring, coordinating, and escorting maintenance staff and contractors within the firing site and related facilities
- Monitoring relevant controls and implementing changes in the workplace as needed
**How About You**:
- Completed training/demonstrated competence Certificate IV in EO or the ability to obtain
- Demonstrated technical expertise in all aspects of EO operations, including unpacking, repackaging, sealing, facility inspections and stock control tasks
- Strong Customer service skills and experience
- Previous knowledge of the Defence industry would be highly advantageous
