**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Divisional Merchandise Manager for Home, you will assist in establishing the strategic direction for your category to deliver and meet Kmart’s strategic objectives.

As our new Business Manager, you will oversee the sourcing and ranging of merchandise, and profitably manage a number of departments within Home. You will lead, develop and build a dynamic, performance driven team instilling strong innovation supported by world class practices.

Key accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

- Driving a high performance culture by coaching, guiding and developing a team to ensure personal and business goals are met
- Continually update and review Merchandise and Financial plans, adjusting where necessary to meet budget
- Analyse buying patterns and predict future trends, ensuring that future sales and opportunities are maximised
- Implement and manage the sourcing (local/overseas) and distribution strategies for the buyers in conjunction with Kmart Asia Sourcing team (KAS)
- Collaborate with Planning Manager (PM) & Divisional Merchandise Manager (DMM) to develop and deliver the strategic plan that will deliver long term growth

**To be successful in this role**:
You will be an experienced Senior Buyer who will bring a strategic mindset and a passion for what we do at Kmart. You’ll also be a natural leader and communicator who is comfortable managing a team.

We'd also love you to have:

- Proven experience as a Buyer within the Retail sector and have a strong understanding of merchandise critical path
- Customer and data-centric approach
- Experience in developing and implementing merchandise strategy
- Proven Product Development experience within Retail
- Exceptional influencing, negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent ability in building strong relationships within key business areas to achieve strategic and operational outcomes
- Strong ability to manage & lead a team by bringing out the best in your people
- Experience within Homewares is preferred, but not essential
