Perched in the stunning surrounds of Katoomba, **Hotel Mountain Heritage & Falls Mountain Retreat** is where charm, history, and natural beauty meet. Hospitality Group and we're on the lookout for a hands-on, can-do **Maintenance General Hand** to join our passionate team.

About the Role
As our Maintenance General Hand, you’ll play a key part in keeping our properties operating at their best. You’ll be the go-to person for everything from minor fixes to urgent callouts, helping ensure our guests enjoy a seamless stay — and our team can do their best work in a safe, functioning environment.

You’ll work closely with our Chief Engineer and collaborate with contractors and internal staff to deliver a clean, safe, and welcoming experience for everyone.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out general repairs and preventative maintenance across hotel buildings and guest rooms.
- Jump into action when things break down — from leaky taps to flickering lights.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency work, including on-call shifts as needed.
- Keep tools secure, workspaces tidy, and safety front of mind at all times.
- Maintain detailed records and report hazards or issues promptly.
- Contribute to a positive and professional culture where safety and service come first.

What You’ll Bring
- At least 2 years’ experience in a general maintenance or building services role.
- Confidence in fixing basic plumbing, lighting, minor electricals, and carpentry tasks.
- A White Card (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to paint and patch to a neat finish.
- Physically fit and comfortable with safe manual handling and ladder use.
- A knack for problem-solving, initiative, and getting things done with mínimal supervision.
- Strong communication and time management skills.

Bonus Points For
- Trade qualifications in a relevant field (plumbing, carpentry, electrical etc.)
- Previous hotel, resort or hospitality maintenance experience.
