**Key duties**:
- Develop, implement, analyse and provide specialist and informed advice to the Minister, executive management, team manager, stakeholders and clients on boating infrastructure legislation, policy and issues
- You will provide high level advice to team management, senior management, key stakeholders and district/regional offices on boating infrastructure strategies, assets and issues
- You will undertake strategic planning activities for boating facilities in Queensland and support the development and implementation of strategic asset ownership and strategic asset management of statewide boating infrastructure
- Oversight legislation, policy and legal issues relating to delivery and ownership of recreation boating infrastructure
- Contribute to the management of the Boating Infrastructure Program within the Maritime Infrastructure Investment Program through the development of policies, guidelines and standards, and through the program development and project prioritisation
- You will have oversight of and provide project management for selected projects such as the five-yearly Recreational Boating Facilities Demand Forecasting Study, and other boating infrastructure projects from time to time
**Accountabilities include**:
- Lead and manage strategic planning projects and activities
- Lead and/or contribute to the BIP and MIIP maturity assessement, gated program reviews, and financial submissions
- Undertake state-wide strategic ownership responsibilities and address relevant issues
- Manage the five yearly Recreational Boating Facilities Demand Forecasting Study
- Identify, research, analyse, develop policy options and provide strategic advice
- Contribute to the formulation of business plans, reports and other documents as required
- Evaluate policy options on a broad range of strategic boating infrastructure issues
- Respond to emerging issues
- Oversee the regional asset condition reporting and response processes
- Contribute to the preparation of briefs to the department's legal section and Crown Law
- Contribute to the planning process
- Actively participate in personal performance planning and appraisal
- Prepare ministerial correspondence, briefs, responses and submissions
- Undertake training and development opportunities necessary to achieve work unit goals
- Contribute to a safe and healthy workplace
- Represent the department or state government as required
- Travel as required
- Perform other duties required by the Manager
